ParkVision for parking space monitoring released

The software allows tracking paid parking times, as well as all stopping and parking violations

3.12.2024

Our company T-Vision has released ParkVision — an advanced photo and video enforcement system designed to monitor paid parking time and automatically detect violations of vehicle stopping and parking rules.

With the increasing number of vehicles in cities, the growing complexity of transport infrastructure, and the rise in parking violations, the need for effective control becomes a key task for municipalities. ParkVision is a high-tech solution that not only simplifies the work of city services but also contributes to improving road safety, enhances street space management, and reduces the number of violations.

What violations does ParkVision detect?

ParkVision is designed for automatic detection of a wide range of violations, including:

  • Counting parking time and recording excess parking time in paid zones — the system keeps track of the time vehicles spend in parking areas, which allows for effective monitoring of compliance with rules and prevention of unpaid parking cases.
  • Stopping and parking in violation of traffic rules — vehicles parked in violation of established restrictions are recorded, such as parking prohibitions in certain places or exceeding the permitted time in a parking zone.
  • Stopping near pedestrian crossings — the system records vehicles that create a danger for pedestrians by blocking visibility and making road crossing difficult.
  • Parking at public transport stops — prevents cases when private vehicles occupy spaces intended for public transport, creating obstacles for passenger and bus movement.
  • Stopping and parking in public transport lanes — vehicles creating congestion and hindering the normal functioning of dedicated lanes are recorded.
  • Parking on sidewalks and landscaped areas — identifies vehicles parked in violation of landscaping regulations, obstructing pedestrian movement and creating safety hazards.
  • Violation of parking rules on even/odd days — automatic monitoring of compliance with seasonal or temporary parking rules.
  • Search and online notification of vehicle detection in one of the connected databases.
  • Online notification of operators and tow trucks about parking violations - allows for vehicle towing in case of violations or unpaid parking.

Thanks to the high flexibility of the system, ParkVision allows simultaneous detection of several types of violations in different zones, making it a universal tool for urban parking space control.

What does the parking space monitoring system using ParkVision consist of?

  • Dome-colored PTZ video cameras (up to 4 units), providing 360° monitoring
  • Computing module – energy-efficient ARM computer, modem, GLONASS/GPS, control controller, uninterruptible power supply (optional)
  • Specialized software – controls cameras, recognizes license plates, generates and transmits final materials

ParkVision has flexible settings and allows simultaneous detection of all types of violations in different zones

ParkVision Technologies: accuracy, reliability, benefit

High-precision license plate recognition system

One of the key technologies of the system is the recognition of license plates with accuracy up to 99%. The system is based on advanced machine vision algorithms that provide:

  1. High accuracy in any weather conditions (rain, snow, fog)
  2. Detection of license plates even in low light
  3. Recognition of various license plate formats, including square plates

This technology eliminates errors in vehicle identification and allows accurate detection of violators.

360° view and control zone up to 600 meters

The ParkVision system is equipped with up to four dome PTZ video cameras, providing a complete view of the monitored area. The cameras have high sensitivity and allow detection of violations even in conditions of poor visibility.

The controlled zone reaches 600 meters, making the system particularly effective for monitoring large parking areas, streets with heavy traffic, and complex traffic interchanges.

Integration with government control systems

ParkVision can be connected to existing urban safety and control systems, including:

  1. GIS ”Safe City”
  2. Traffic police databases
  3. Municipal parking systems
  4. Proprietary paid parking time accounting systems

Thanks to online verification of all vehicles, the system instantly determines vehicle data and transmits information to monitor whether the car is registered in a paid zone, whether it has a valid parking subscription, and also identifies vehicles that are wanted or have unpaid fines.

ParkVision — energy efficiency and autonomy

Minimal power consumption

The system is designed with energy efficiency requirements in mind. The average power consumption of the system does not exceed 30W, which allows minimizing operational costs.

Autonomous operation and solar panel support

If necessary, the system can operate autonomously for up to 12 hours thanks to built-in batteries. There is also the possibility of connecting solar panels, which makes the solution ideal for remote areas and regions with unstable power supply.

Operation in extreme conditions

ParkVision is adapted for operation in the most challenging climatic conditions. The system functions at temperatures from -60°C to +60°C, and the camera housing has IP65/IP66 protection, which guarantees resistance to moisture, dust, and mechanical damage.

Economic and social effectiveness of ParkVision

The implementation of the ParkVision system allows city services to:

  • Reduce the workload on inspectors through automated detection of violations
  • Fully automate the analysis of paid parking time in private areas and parking lots
  • Increase fine collection and enhance the municipality's budget
  • Reduce the number of parking violations due to the inevitability of punishment
  • Create comfortable conditions for pedestrians and public transport
  • Reduce the number of accidents by clearing roadways from chaotic parking

According to research, effective parking space control contributes to a 30-50% reduction in violations during the first months after system implementation.
