T-vision clients now able to detect drivers using phones while driving
A violation required in tenders is now available in Traffikor. The quality and detection capabilities far exceed competitors

We are pleased to announce a significant update to the Traffikor software. The system is now able to automatically identify drivers using mobile phones while driving, which is a serious violation of traffic rules and one of the main causes of road accidents.
Capabilities
Traffikor's phone detection capabilities are the best on the market by a wide margin today:
- Error probability - less than 2 percent with the ability to adjust filtering thresholds
- Automatic differentiation between driver and passenger
- Detection of phone use violations both at the ear and in the driver's hands in front of the face
- Does not require additional angle adjustments, camera configurations or installation of special filters
- The algorithm works well in both cloudy and clear weather
- Does not react to glare on the windshield, which eliminates errors
- Works well with frames even when the driver is in shadow
- Ability to detect violations at night using IR illumination
- Violation detection occurs simultaneously across all lanes, and simultaneously with the detection of other violations
- Violations are detected simultaneously with all 35+ types of possible violations
Why is this important?
Using a mobile phone while driving significantly reduces driver concentration, increasing the risk of accidents. According to research, about 62% of drivers are distracted by phone conversations, 31% write messages, and 13% use social media while driving. Such actions lead to an increase in accidents and endanger the lives and health of road users.
Current fines for using a phone while driving from January 1, 2025
On January 1, 2025, new penalties for using a mobile phone while driving came into force in Russia. Now this violation carries a fine of 5,000 rubles, which significantly exceeds the previous fine of 1,500 rubles. This tightening is aimed at improving driver discipline and reducing the number of accidents associated with distraction by mobile devices.
Benefits for cities and municipalities
The implementation of the updated Traffikor provides the following advantages to authorities and road services:
- Improved road safety: Automatic detection of violations helps reduce the number of accidents related to the use of mobile phones while driving.
- Increased collection of fines: Accurate and impartial detection of violations ensures the inevitability of punishment, which promotes improved discipline among drivers.
- Reduced workload for traffic police officers: Automation of the violation detection process frees up resources for addressing other important road safety tasks.
The implementation of phone detection in Traffikor is a step forward in ensuring road safety. Automatic detection of mobile phone use while driving will help reduce the number of accidents, save the lives and health of road users, as well as improve the efficiency of road services. T-Vision continues to implement innovative solutions to create a safe and comfortable environment on the roads.
